Wyatt's Superhero Room Reveal

Wyatt's room is finished and I am pleased with the end result.  Last month I shared my ideas for this room and am happy to complete this little project for a little under $90 total.

"New" student chair that cost a little less than $15, but makes a big impact.

I loved these free prints and found clearance frames at Target for $4.18 a piece for fun art pieces.  New lamp shade from Ikea for $3.99.

Comic duvet and sham  for $29.99 from Target, which was the inspiration for the new look.

These comic book art canvases were just what I had in mind for this fun room.  Wyatt and I picked out four favorite comics from Half Price Books  (all comics are an additional 20% off on Wednesdays) and Mod Podged the covers on 9x12 art canvases.  We spent $7.50 on the four comic books and $14 on the canvases.  These comics are all over twenty years old and one of them is thirty-six years old. Iron Man is my favorite.

Student Chair Makeover

Wyatt has a desk in his room that I painted and added new hardware when we moved in, but failed to find the perfect chair so Wyatt has been using a storage ottoman instead.  I was delighted to score this student chair for $7.20 at Goodwill. I spent around $7 on primer and silver paint.  The red paint is the Classic Red that we used on his bed and dresser so it is a perfect match.
 I love this little chair!

A Room Fit for a Superhero

When we moved here my kids were beyond excited to have their own rooms!  We chose bedding and paint colors before we moved and Wyatt chose Toy Story.  Although I usually shy away from character bedding we only spent $30 for the comforter and wall stickers so I rolled with it.   I was not surprised when my 7 year old told me a couple of months ago he was over Toy Story and wanted something new.  I decided to work with the red bed and blue walls to minimize cost.  We found this comic duvet set for $29.99 at Target and decided to use this as a starting point.
Here is our "mood board" for this mini room redux.

Wyatt's Room

The three kids rooms were white before we painted them. My in-laws and sister Olivia painted the rooms and I am so thankful. It was fun getting their rooms ready because they shared a room before at the Bosart house. We repurposed the black dressers that had been in our room for the boys and my sister Tammy gave us this awesome bed for Wyatt. The bed was an oak color before and with just a little primer and paint we got this fabulous red! Check out the "hidey hole"!
