The Three Little Pigs

Here is my contribution to the DillyDally Celebration launch! I just love this fabric and this is one of my kids' favorite stories. I find the story just a tad disturbing that a mom would raise three kids and only one of them smart enough to build a brick house- don't they know that brick has much better resell value than hay? Check out my auction here and don't forget about the giveaway!

Check out this! Can you believe that Madeline got that much air?

I have been hiding

in the sewing room making an outfit that involves gingham and pigs. Yes, pigs. DillyDally's big Celebration launch begins this Thursday! I have not made anything new in months and I have struggled a little, ok, a lot! Here are the details of our giveaway!

And here is a sneak of my fabric!

Easter Highlights

Well, the kids are asleep which is a miracle due to the amount of sugar they consumed today! This morning started off with Resurrection Rolls, which were a big hit in my book and will become an Easter morning tradition.

60 second photo session before church:

A yummy easter dinner with my family and there are no photos of that because I was the cook and I did not have time. We also had to have our egg hunt indoors, but it was fun! I can not believe that my husband hid 50 eggs in only two rooms of our house. He was VERY creative. Again, no pictures. Sometimes life is happening so fast that I am in the moment and the camera does not make it and I am ok with that. Overall, best Easter ever!

One Year Ago

We closed on our new home! This first year has gone by soooo fast! In the past 365 days we have:

Installed garage cabinets, painted 9 rooms, swapped out 22 brass light fixtures for brushed nickel ones, reupholstered 2 wing chairs, bought a dining room set and a leather sectional. Needless to say our wallet took a hit and we are taking it slower in 2011. This has been a fun year and our family loves all the space we have. I am so thankful that we have a place to live and that we love it too! My main home improvement goals for the rest of the year is focusing on the exterior. Shutters, doors, light fixtures, landscaping. We priced out a diy patio... would you believe $1200.00??? I had no idea!!! You can see most of our home here!

I surrender!

This has been one looooong week. Wyatt missed school Monday and Tuesday because he was sick and needed a trip to the doctor which resulted in a $45 co-pay and two medications. I have felt horrible and had the same symptoms, but I thought Mommy will power would prevail and I would get better, well, it did not. So, after paying another $45 co-pay and one medication I am on the mend. I seriously have not felt this bad in many years. The only reason I have been to the doctor in the last 7 years is because I have been pregnant. You should have seen me in the clinic with three kids, past their lunch time, Madeline was in Christmas pajamas.... I am laughing as I type, but at the time I was horrified, but wanted the drugs so bad that I refused to leave. The good news is that I already feel better. The bad news is that Easter is in two days and I have not grocery shopped, dyed eggs, got basket candy, I need Easter dinner, Wyatt has soccer tomorrow.... the list is endless, but if my life were not crazy would it be as much fun?!

Teacher Appreciation Week

is just around the corner and Wyatt's teacher is AWESOME! I have a few ideas in mind and one of them is word art. I used the website Wordle to create this! I am going to use dollar store photo paper (you can get 8 8x10 sheets for a dollar) and a cute frame from Target. They have some good sturdy 8x10 frames for only $3.99.

Blog Inspirations

A few weeks ago I entered The Inspired Room's Dayspring giveaway. I did not win, but that did not stop me from getting these wonderful pieces for my dining room.

Wood Pedestal and Wood Caddy
The birds are salt and pepper shakers from Pier One.

Glass Dome

Easter is just days away and our Resurrection eggs are ready. We are going to start them tomorrow. Crafty Texas Girls inspired me to do this craft with my kiddos.

And the newest addition and I believe the last is this mirror from Wuslu. I was inspired by this fellow Hoosier Thrifty Decor Chick post. I feel that this mirror is just perfect for this spot and "mirrors" the round plates on the opposite wall.

How cute is this kid?

And why does it seem that he always has his shirt off when I take a picture of him?

First Communion and Playing Photographer

My cousin Abby's first communion is next month and my grandma asked if I could take some pictures. My family thought that I did a great job on Olivia's senior pictures last year and now I am the official family photographer. I am not a photographer, but I will try my best. Here are a few of my favorite shots of Abby:

This one was just for fun.

Race for a Cure

It has become a family tradition to do the 1 mile family walk for the Indy Komen Race for the Cure. This is the third year that the whole family has done it together. I love celebrating the women in my life that have survived and those that fought hard (Aunt Sally). This year my mom celebrates her 9th year! She is so amazing there are not enough words to describe. Here are some pictures from today's race!

Little Purple Dress

The agony of what to wear for Easter is over. I received a $10 Kohls coupon in the mail and the kids and I ran in there the other night. It is really hard to make a decision while keeping three kids entertained, but I knew I wanted something to coordinate with the kids so that narrowed my search down. I found this cute ruffle dress and the best part is I only paid $25.

Goodwill footstool

I went to Goodwill last week in search of a wood candle holder for my cheese dome. I did not find a candle holder, but I did score this footstool for $4.99!

As soon as I got home I remembered this stool from My Third True Love that was oh, so cute!

The first thing I did was remove the fabric and spray painted the wood with RustOleum Satin Black.

I recovered the top with canvas drop cloth.

I used painters tape as my stencil for the stripe and free handed the No. 5. I used my Valspar paint sample Sky Blue 2. I failed to take a picture of this step... oops!

Here is the lovely little stool in its new home!

Grab your picnic basket!

The picnic table is finished and I am so happy that it is ready just in time for all this great weather that we are having! Hopefully we will have lunch there today. This project was an easy one. We bought a kit from Lowe's for around $87 dollars, sandpaper, sand, and stain so the whole project was around $115.

Wyatt's List

I am a list maker and apparently Wyatt is too. Here are his top three must do things.

1. Cuddle with Mom

2. Watch Disney Junior

3. Watch funny shows. (America's Funniest Home Videos)

I am so happy that I made the list!
