Hoosier Mummy?

I am still LOL at my title because I am a dork like that! I live in Indiana, get it?! I know that the kids are not in school yet, but I am showing you Halloween. It is that time of year in the custom boutique world. Thanksgiving is next and Christmas before you know it!

I made this Hello Kitty Mummy patchwork skirt with comfy knit waist to match Tattered Tulip's applique tee. The skirt is available in sizes 12M-10 starting at $19.00, which includes shipping! All of the info is here on the DillyDally District Facebook page.

If you are not a fan of room*6 on FB here is the page so you can join!

Water Balloon Bonanza

Water balloons are a lot like unwrapping presents.
A lot of prep for a minute of fun, but we did have fun!
I do not have pictures when I got involved, but I was soaked from head to toe!

Wyatt anticipating. He could not wait to get his Dad.

Madeline jumping the gun!

This picture is for Chelley and you know why!

Luke being Luke... I love this kid!

Mt. Laundry

This is a weekly occurrence. I like to wash all the laundry on one day, fold the next, and put away on the third day. This lazy system works for me. I know that a lot of people (my mom and father-in-law) do a little each day, but if I did that my kids would not have a cool mountain of clothes to jump in! What is your laundry style?

Home Goods Love

Last week I was at Home Goods with my bff and came across this Ballard look alike for only $19.99. I stood in the store and contemplated this purchase during my "no spend July month" and decided I could not pass this up.  Maybe next month? I originally wanted two to three of these Bellesol mirrors for this space, but I am liking the two different mirrors.

Favicon Revisited

Back in March I made a favicon for the blog, but it was lost in html world when I changed templates. I was overjoyed when I saw Today's Fabulous Finds post,  Five Clicks to Your Own Favicon. So easy and I would have never noticed that little button on the Blogger page. So now I am sporting my favicon. Oh, and I did notice that it was not an immediate change. It actually took a few days for my favicon to appear so be patient!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Last night the family went to an Indianapolis Indians game courtesy of The Indiana Family of Farmers. Although it was hot, hot, hot and humid to boot we had a great time with family and friends.

Homemade Apple Pie {Epic Fail}

Yesterday I decided to make Matt's favorite dessert, apple pie from scratch. That is the way his mom makes it and don't you know I will never replicate that. To tell you the truth apple pie is my least favorite. Pumpkin is my favorite and pecan is second. What was I thinking baking a pie on a 90 degree day? I followed the Pioneer Woman's "Perfect Pie Crust" recipe. Very easy and tastes just like mom's!

Looks good, huh? Even Matt came home and said that it looked good, but it is the inside that counts.

This is what the inside looked like! SOUP! Well, I did something wrong and bless my family because Matt and Wyatt ate a piece and told me it tasted fine.  Wyatt is going to make one good husband some day!  I am more proud of myself because I did not cry. So, it may not have been an "epic" fail, but I learned a few things. I can make a crust from scratch and I can not expect everything to be perfect the first time around.

Master Bedroom {Room Tour}

Awhile back I showed you snippets of my master bedroom.  This room has always felt incomplete to me and with less than a hundred dollars this room has been transformed!

We replaced the red Ikea lamps with these wall lamps.

Added a new lantern on top of the armoire.

The rocking chair will be finding a new home. I need something that we will actually sit in, but for now it serves a purpose holding our pillows at night. Which reminds me of this funny clip!

 Here is my corner window that would look fantastic with window treatments and a comfy chair.

Ikea frames above the bed that are waiting for black and white family pictures that will be taken by LaNae, my bff over at Tattered Tulips.  My favorite picture printing place Mpix will print true black and white 12x12 prints for only $6.99.

Last week I removed this weather worn light fixture on the back of our house and gave it a makeover. Since I tackled the porch light. I decided I could save some dough and paint this one. I already had the paint so this project was practically free! I did this on my own including removing and installing the fixture.  I was just a little proud, can't you tell?  I also replaced the light bulb with a CFL bulb.  That is an improvement in itself!

Doll Clothes Storage for under $5

I have talked before about Madeline's "friends",  Maisy and Stacy. Well, Maisy and Stacy have a little bit of a clothes problem! There are too many to fit into their wardrobe so I needed an inexpensive solution to corral all their stuff.

Here is what we had before.

I decided to try a spring tension curtain rod going the depth of the closet and it works great! Here is a great way to store your 18 inch doll clothes without using a lot of money or space! I used Command hooks for the accessories and the shoe racks came with doll shoes from Target that were purchased on clearance. I got the second shoe rack from a friend who did not need it.
